Mudryk trades Chelsea for another London giant
Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk has moved from Chelsea to Tottenham. The London club has loaned the 25-year-old until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Both clubs officially announced the transfer. Mudryk will wear the number 27 at Tottenham.
For the Ukrainian, this transfer means a reunion with Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi. The Italian has already worked with Mudryk at Shakhtar Donetsk and is well familiar with the winger's capabilities.
De Zerbi stated that Mudryk's speed and one-on-one play can add sharpness in attack. At the same time, the coach emphasised that he will demand a lot from the Ukrainian and hopes to help him return to his best level.
Mudryk himself stated after the transfer that he is happy to work with De Zerbi again and looks forward to starting training and matches for the new team as soon as possible.
According to Sky Sports, the deal includes an option for Tottenham to buy the Ukrainian after the loan ends. TNT Sports and insider Fabrizio Romano report that the option is not obligatory and amounts to £75 million. Officially, the clubs have not disclosed the potential transfer fee.
Mudryk moved to Chelsea from Shakhtar in January 2023. According to the London club, the Ukrainian played 73 matches for the team and scored 10 goals. He also participated in Chelsea's Conference League campaign, which the team subsequently won.
Mudryk's last official match before a long pause took place in November 2024. In the summer of 2026, the anti-doping proceedings regarding the footballer ended, after which he was given the right to return to competition immediately.
