City Mall in Zaporizhzhia suspends operations after strike on neighboring "Epicentr"

The City Mall shopping and entertainment center in Zaporizhzhia, owned by Arricano, is temporarily suspending operations for visitors. The shopping complex will not operate until the end of September due to the deteriorating security situation in the city and the increase in Russian strikes on civilian objects.

The company's decision was reported by the Ukrainian Council of Shopping Centers, citing Arricano's press service. A notice also appeared on the City Mall website that the complex will not operate during September.

Arricano explained the decision by the growing number of Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure, particularly shopping facilities. An additional factor was the strike on the "Epicentr" hypermarket located directly next to City Mall.

"Considering that over the past month the enemy has significantly increased the number of strikes on civilian objects, including shopping centers, and after the enemy strike on the "Epicentr" hypermarket located directly next to our shopping center in Zaporizhzhia, we decided to temporarily suspend the operation of the Zaporizhzhia City Mall", - explained Arricano.

The company emphasized that the safety of visitors and tenants remains the priority. The shopping center team will continue to monitor the situation in Zaporizhzhia and maintain contact with tenants.

At the end of September, Arricano plans to reassess the security situation and separately announce the further operating mode of City Mall.

Russian troops attacked the "Epicentr" hypermarket located next to the shopping complex on the morning of August 28. The store building was damaged as a result of the strike. This attack was part of a series of strikes on the chain's facilities in Odesa, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia.
