Russia attacked a shopping mall in Zaporizhzhia with drones, which had previously suspended operations
On the night of September 7, Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia with drones. As a result of the strike, a shopping center caught fire, and there were no casualties. According to the local publication "Fifth Edition," the City Mall shopping and entertainment center, which had been temporarily closed a few days ago due to the deteriorating security situation, was hit.
The Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported on the aftermath. In social media, the administration published photos and videos from the site.
"The enemy attacked Zaporizhzhia with UAVs. A shopping center caught fire. It went without casualties", - the statement said.
In the morning, the local publication "Fifth Edition" published footage of the damaged City Mall after the night attack.
At the time of the strike, the shopping complex was already temporarily closed to visitors. In early September, Arricano, which owns City Mall, announced the suspension of the mall's operations until the end of the month due to the worsening security situation in Zaporizhzhia and the increase in Russian strikes on civilian and commercial targets.
The closure decision was made, in particular, after the Russian strike on August 28 on the Epicenter hypermarket, located right next to City Mall. At the time, Arricano said that at the end of September they would reassess the security situation and determine the further mode of operation of the complex.
