The dollar continued to fall, interbank expects active NBU selling
On Monday, September 7, trading on the interbank foreign exchange market continues to be sluggish amid a relative balance of supply and demand. Deals in the first half of the trading session are going in the range of 44.48-44.55 UAH. As last week, buyers are waiting for the start of massive NBU intervention and for quotes to fall even lower under sales pressure, so they are in no hurry to buy at current prices.
The euro on the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine is trading on Monday in the range of 51.69-51.80 UAH on the "bid" side - 11-13 kopecks lower than last Friday. On the international foreign exchange market FOREX, the euro is fluctuating today between 1.1605 and 1.1635 dollars. The US has a day off today: Americans celebrate Labor Day.
Cash dollar prices continue their gradual decline that began at the end of last week. If last Friday wholesale exchange offices in Kyiv sold the dollar at 44.79-44.80 UAH, today by lunchtime - at 44.70-44.73 UAH. In Dnipro, the dollar is sold at 44.73-44.78 UAH, in Kharkiv - at 44.79 UAH, in Khmelnytskyi and Odesa - at 44.80 UAH.
Ukrainian banks by 1:00 PM sell the dollar at prices starting from 44.70 UAH in some branches of Bank Lviv in western Ukraine up to 45.05 UAH in Zaporizhzhia's Metbank. As for the euro, currently it can be purchased most cheaply at 51.93 UAH also in some branches of Bank Lviv.
Oil prices are going up again. The price of the popular Brent grade rose to $97.92 per barrel. Currently, Brent is trading in the range of $96.65-96.86 per barrel.
On cryptocurrency exchanges, prices of major cryptocurrencies are correcting after growth over the weekend. Thus, bitcoin (BTC) on the popular exchange Binance dropped this morning to $79,001 per coin, while Ethereum (ETH) fell to $2,475.12 per coin. At present, bitcoin is sold at $79,350-79,380 per coin, and Ethereum at $2,484-2,490 per coin.
