Power outages in Kyiv region for second day in a row after Russian attacks

In Kyiv region, new power outages have been recorded for the second day in a row as a result of Russian attacks. On the morning of September 9, consumers in Sumy, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv regions also lost electricity. This was reported by NPC "Ukrenergo".

The company noted that the new electricity outages were the result of Russian drone attacks and artillery shelling. In regions where the security situation allows, power engineers are already carrying out restoration work.

Kyiv region has been on the list of regions with new outages for the second day in a row. On the morning of September 8, "Ukrenergo" also reported power supply disruptions in Kyiv region after Russian attacks on civilian energy infrastructure facilities. At that time, new outages were also recorded in Kyiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Vinnytsia and Zaporizhzhia regions.

On the night of September 9, Russia again attacked Kyiv region with drones. In particular, in Bila Tserkva, a fire broke out at a food industry enterprise as a result of the strike.

Electricity consumption increased

"Ukrenergo" also reported an increase in electricity consumption. As of 09:30 on September 9, it was 1.7% higher than at the same time the previous day.

Power engineers recommend shifting active use of electrical appliances to the period from 10:00 to 15:00, when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently. At the same time, in the evening hours — from 18:00 to 22:00 — consumers are asked to use powerful electrical appliances sparingly.

"Ukrenergo" emphasized that the situation in the power system may change, so current information about possible restrictions should be checked on the official resources of distribution system operators.
