Kyiv is testing a new operating mode for the "green" metro line

On September 9, Kyiv launched the through movement of the "green" metro line across the Yuzhny Bridge during the yellow level of air danger in test mode. Starting September 10, the new operating scheme will be permanent.

This was reported by the Kyiv Metro Municipal Enterprise.

During the yellow threat level, Syretsko-Pecherska Line trains run along the usual route and carry passengers between the right and left banks of the Dnipro via the Yuzhny Bridge.

On September 9, the mode is being tested, and specialists are completing the refinement of safety algorithms and interaction between drivers, dispatchers, and station attendants. From Wednesday, September 10, the green line will operate during the yellow level without such restrictions on a permanent basis.

At the red level, movement across the bridge will be stopped

In the event of a red air threat level, trains will not run on the surface section across the Dnipro. Passengers must exit at underground stations and wait out the danger, using them as shelters.

In this mode, the green line will effectively be divided into two sections: trains will run between "Syrets" and "Vydubychi" stations on the right bank and "Osokorky" and "Chervony Khutir" on the left.

Information about the current metro operating mode will be broadcast in cars and at stations. Passengers are urged to follow announcements and comply with the instructions of metro personnel.

Earlier, the capital authorities reported changes in transport operation during air threats starting September 10. In particular, at the yellow level, the green line should operate via the Yuzhny Bridge without restrictions, and at the red level, surface metro movement across the Dnipro will be stopped. For cars, traffic on the Yuzhny Bridge during the yellow level will also be allowed with possible short-term technological closures.
