Trump threatens Iran with new strike on nuclear facility

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Washington has detected activity at the Iranian Pickaxe Mountain site and threatened to strike it if Tehran continues operations.

Trump made the statement during his speech at the Republican Party convention in Dallas.

"There is another place called Pickaxe Mountain. We might have to hit that too, because somebody said there is a little activity going on there", the U.S. President said.

Trump did not specify the nature of the activity detected, but said the American side is closely monitoring the situation.

"We noticed a little activity at Pickaxe. I would advise Iran not to mess around with us, because we are going to have to hit them very hard. We have no alternative", he said.

Trump earlier mentioned previous U.S. strikes on Iran's nuclear infrastructure using B-2 bombers. According to him, these attacks were necessary because Tehran was allegedly weeks away from being able to obtain nuclear weapons.

The U.S. President said the bombers took off from Missouri, stayed airborne for about 37 hours with several refuelings, and, in his assessment, destroyed the designated targets. Trump emphasized that the U.S. will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.

Separately, during his speech, Trump connected the current war with Iran to the situation on the oil market. He stated that oil prices will begin to fall after U.S. victory in the war, and also claimed that Washington controls the Strait of Hormuz.

"Oil is going to go down as soon as we win the war with Iran, which is going on right now. We will win it", Trump said.
