Dollar falls on interbank market, cash market remains stable
On Thursday, September 10, immediately after the start of trading on the interbank currency market, cashless dollar quotes began to fall amid weak demand from currency buyers. By 13:40 they had dropped from 44.655 to 44.521 UAH on the "bid" position, i.e. by 13 kopecks. The National Bank today, although it carried out currency interventions, was not particularly active.
The euro on Ukraine's interbank currency market went down on Thursday following the dollar, and from 51.97 UAH by the time of writing this article fell to 51.75 UAH on the "bid" position. On the international currency market FOREX, the euro today fluctuates between 1.1623 and 1.1642 dollars, i.e. roughly at the same level as yesterday.
Cash dollar price tags have hardly changed compared with yesterday. Both yesterday and today at lunchtime, wholesale exchange offices in Kyiv sell dollars at 44.73-44.75 UAH. In Mykolaiv, dollars are sold at 44.77 UAH, in Odesa – at 44.79-44.80 UAH, in Kharkiv and Poltava – at 44.85 UAH.
Ukrainian banks by 13:00 sell the dollar at prices from 44.77 UAH in Pivdenny Bank to 45.15 UAH in Zaporizhzhia's Metbank. As for the euro, at the moment the cheapest place to buy it is at 51.95 UAH in Europrom bank.
Oil prices continue to rise above the $100 mark. The price of the most popular Brent grade today rose to $102.70 per barrel. Currently Brent is trading in the range of $101.90-102.30 per barrel.
On crypto exchanges, a decline in the prices of major cryptocurrencies is once again observed. Thus, Bitcoin (BTC) on the most popular crypto exchange Binance this morning dropped to $77,688 per coin, and Ethereum (ETH) – to $2,442.44 per coin. Currently Bitcoin is being sold at $77,740-77,760 per coin, and Ethereum at $2,458-2,464 per coin.
