Ukrainian Consulate in Düsseldorf evacuated due to possible threat

In the German city of Düsseldorf on the evening of September 10, police carried out a large-scale operation near the Consulate General of Ukraine after a report of a possible threat. The building and surrounding area were checked, but law enforcement officers found no signs of real danger.

According to police, the operation began at around 5:30 p.m. local time. The area around the Ukrainian consulate was widely cordoned off, and one section of a street in central Düsseldorf was closed. Several police crews were on the scene.

People who were inside the building at the time were evacuated. Law enforcement officers then inspected the consulate premises and the surrounding area.

The reason for the operation was information received by police about a possible threat to the diplomatic mission. The officers did not specify the nature of this information—for example, whether it involved explosives, a suspicious object, or a direct threat of attack.

At around 7:15 p.m., police ended the operation and lifted the cordon. According to a police spokesperson, the threat signal was not confirmed, and no signs of actual danger were found during the check.

Police have not yet disclosed additional details about the origin of the threat report. There is also no confirmed data on any arrests or injuries, and authorities have not established any connection of the incident with Russia or other states.
