A series of Russian strikes on gas stations recorded in Kyiv: there are fatalities (Updated)

Russian troops have been attacking fuel stations in Kyiv for the second consecutive day. On the morning of September 11, reactive drones struck two UKRNAFTA fuel stations on different banks of the capital at once, with one of the facilities hit again in a repeated strike. As a result of the attack, six people were injured, two of whom later died in hospitals.

Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko and UKRNAFTA reported on the aftermath of the attack.

According to the capital authorities, Russian drones hit gas stations in the Dniprovskyi and Obolonskyi districts of Kyiv. Later, a repeated hit on a gas station in the Obolonskyi district was recorded.

Six people were injured in the morning attack. Five of them were hospitalized, and one received medical assistance on the spot.

Later, Klitschko reported that one of the wounded died from his injuries. A few minutes later, the death of a second victim in the hospital was announced.

Thus, as of 11:44, two people were killed and four wounded remained in hospitals after the morning strikes on gas stations in Kyiv.

UKRNAFTA confirms strikes on two of its fuel stations

UKRNAFTA reported that Russian reactive drones attacked two fuel stations of the network at once — one on the right bank and the other on the left bank of the capital.

According to the company, one of the facilities was hit in a repeated strike.

After the air raid alert was announced, staff and customers left the premises of both stations. At the same time, the attacks caused serious damage to the capital buildings and equipment of the fuel stations.

UKRNAFTA called the attack a targeted strike on civilian infrastructure that supplies fuel and goods to the population. The company said it would rebuild the damaged stations.

Three UKRNAFTA fuel stations attacked in Kyiv over two days

This is the second consecutive day that Russian reactive drones have attacked UKRNAFTA fuel stations in the capital.

On September 10, a Russian reactive drone hit a UKRNAFTA fuel station in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. Following safety rules, staff and customers left the premises after the air raid alert signal.

At the same time, four people who were near the gas station were injured in that attack. Three of them were hospitalized. The buildings and equipment of the station were also damaged.

Thus, on September 10–11, at least three UKRNAFTA fuel stations in Kyiv came under Russian reactive drone attacks. Over these two days, at least ten people were injured in the attacks near the gas stations, two of whom died.

Attacks on fuel infrastructure have been recorded before

The strikes on fuel stations in the capital occur against the backdrop of a broader series of Russian attacks on UKRNAFTA fuel infrastructure in various regions of Ukraine.

On September 6, the company reported four new attacks on its civilian facilities within about a day. The strikes then hit network facilities in the Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Earlier, Russian drones repeatedly attacked the company's fuel stations in frontline and near-frontline regions. The series of strikes on September 10–11 indicates an expansion of the geography of such attacks directly onto the capital.

At the same time, Ukrainian authorities have not yet officially announced the existence of a separate Russian campaign specifically against the gas station network in Kyiv.
