The number of regions with new blackouts due to Russian attacks doubled
Over the past day, the number of regions in Ukraine with new blackouts from Russian attacks doubled. If on the morning of September 10 power outages after shelling were recorded in three regions, then on September 11 already in six.
This is evidenced by the morning reports of NPC "Ukrenergo" for September 10 and 11.
As of the morning of September 11, new blackouts due to hostilities were recorded in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson and Chernihiv regions.
The company reported that energy workers are carrying out restoration work everywhere, where the security situation allows.
The geography of outages doubled in a day
A day earlier, on the morning of September 10, "Ukrenergo" reported new blackouts only in three regions - Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Donetsk. The reason at that time was Russian attacks by drones and artillery shelling.
Thus, Donetsk, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions remained in the list of regions where new consequences of attacks on the energy system are being recorded. Over the past day Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Kherson regions were added to them.
The expansion of the geography of outages takes place amid ongoing Russian strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure. Part of the regions where new failures occurred regularly suffer from both long-range drone strikes and shelling of areas near the front line and the state border.
At the same time, reports of new blackouts due to shelling do not mean the introduction of planned or national-wide outage schedules: it is about local consequences of damage to networks and energy infrastructure in certain regions.
