Currency market gets more room for rate movement
The National Bank seems to have decided to slightly ease the pressure on the currency market and allow the dollar exchange rate to move up and down.
On Friday, September 11, immediately after the start of trading on the interbank currency market, non-cash dollar quotes began to rise and by 12:10 rose to 44.60 UAH on the “bid” position, that is, 14 kopecks higher compared to the opening price. The National Bank, although participating in trading, was not particularly active.
On Friday, the euro on the interbank currency market of Ukraine went up following the dollar, and from 51.61 UAH by the time of writing rose to 51.72 UAH on the “bid” position. On the international FOREX currency market, the euro decreased from 1.1618 to 1.1596 dollars.
Cash dollar price tags in the capital practically did not change compared to yesterday. As yesterday, so today at lunchtime wholesale exchange offices in Kyiv sell the dollar at 44.73-44.75 UAH. In Kharkiv and Ivano-Frankivsk, the dollar is sold at 44.75 UAH, in Dnipro – at 44.78-44.80 UAH, in Khmelnytskyi and Chernivtsi – at 44.80 UAH.
By 12:00, Ukrainian banks sell the dollar at prices from 44.59 UAH at Creditwest Bank to 45.05 UAH at Zaporizhzhia Metbank. As for the euro, it can currently be purchased cheapest at 51.88 UAH also at Creditwest Bank.
Oil prices began a correction today after several days of rapid growth. Yesterday, the price of the most popular Brent crude reached $109 per barrel. Currently, Brent is trading in the range of $104.70-105 per barrel.
On crypto exchanges, prices for major cryptocurrencies went up again after several days of decline. Bitcoin (BTC) on the popular Binance exchange fell to $76,464 per coin yesterday, and ether (ETH) – to $2,405.85 per coin. Currently, bitcoin is sold at $77,170-77,200 per coin, and ether at $2,472-2,478 per coin.
