The Rada will vote for Kravchenko's resignation: media named one of the candidates for prosecutor general

On September 15, the Verkhovna Rada plans to consider the resignation of Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko. Meanwhile, among the possible candidates for the post of the new head of the Prosecutor General's Office, People's Deputy Danylo Hetmantsev is being discussed.

The date of the vote was announced by the head of the "Servant of the People" faction, Davyd Arakhamia. According to him, the issue of Kravchenko's dismissal should be put to a vote in parliament on Tuesday, September 15.

At the same time, "Ukrainska Pravda", citing sources in political circles, reported that one of the candidates for the post of the next prosecutor general is Danylo Hetmantsev. No final decision on his appointment has been announced yet. Hetmantsev is a people's deputy from "Servant of the People" and heads the parliamentary Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy. 

In turn, MP Honcharenko called the information about Hetmantsev's candidacy "a throw-in and nonsense".

The situation around Kravchenko sharply escalated on the morning of September 14, when he announced that he had signed a notice of suspicion to NABU Director Semen Kryvonos. NABU and SAP responded by calling the prosecutor general's actions a continuation of the "systematic attack" on anti-corruption bodies and stated that at the time of their reaction, the suspicion had not been officially served on Kryvonos.

According to RBK-Ukraine, several interlocutors in the president's circle stated that Kravchenko's decision regarding the suspicion of Kryvonos had not been agreed with the Presidential Office and was his "own initiative". At the same time, NV points out that Kravchenko himself claimed: earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy had "politically restrained" him from signing the suspicion.

After the prosecutor general's statement, Zelenskyy publicly called on parliament to urgently support his dismissal.

"This Prosecutor General has only one way: dismissal from office. That is exactly what I told him. Ukraine has seen all the reasons", - the president said.

Kravchenko submitted his resignation back on September 7, calling it a "political decision". However, until the Verkhovna Rada's decision, he formally continues to hold the post of prosecutor general.
