The NBU stopped the morning dollar surge on the interbank market
On Monday, September 14, immediately after the start of trading on the interbank currency market, cashless dollar quotes began to rise, and by 12:20 they had risen from 44.45 to 44.64 UAH on the bid side, i.e. 19 kopecks higher than the opening price.
The National Bank, instantly assessing the situation, entered the market just a few minutes after the start of the trading session and in about 10-15 minutes sold about 120-130 million dollars. Thus, it prevented a possible supply-demand imbalance. The euro on the interbank currency market of Ukraine on Monday was influenced by two factors: the growth of the dollar against the hryvnia on the one hand, and the fall of the euro on FOREX on the other. On the international currency market FOREX, the euro fell by midday from 1.1597 to 1.1534 dollars amid a rise in the US dollar against other major world currencies.
