Russia massively attacked Odesa region: port and logistics infrastructure damaged

Russia massively attacked the Odesa region with drones on the night of September 15. Port, logistics, transport and residential infrastructure were targeted. As a result of the attack, a warehouse building caught fire, private houses, garages, cars and a truck were damaged. There are no deaths or injuries.

The consequences of the attack were reported by the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Izmail District State Administration and SES.

According to the Regional Military Administration, Russian drones massively attacked the civilian infrastructure of the region. Residential buildings, logistics facilities, as well as port and transport infrastructure were damaged.

SES reported a fire in a warehouse building caused by the Russian strike. Rescuers were eliminating the consequences of the attack.

Also, the roofs, facades and glazing of three private residential houses, ten garages and two cars were damaged. No fires occurred in residential buildings or cars.

Separately, the Izmail district came under attack. Local authorities reported that it was attacked by Shahed-type drones. According to the district administration, air defense forces destroyed almost all the drones, but residential infrastructure and a truck were damaged by debris or as a result of impacts.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also claimed that among the targets of the night attack were logistics centers and Ukrainian ports. In particular, the Russian side claims a strike on a logistics center in Velyka Balka, as well as on a dry cargo ship and a Ro-Ro type ferry in the port of Chornomorsk.

Moscow traditionally claimed that these facilities were allegedly used to support the Defense Forces of Ukraine. At the time of publication, the Ukrainian side had not confirmed either the statements about damage to the mentioned vessels or the claims about the military purpose of the damaged facilities.

At the same time, the Odesa Regional Military Administration officially confirmed damage specifically to the port, transport and logistics infrastructure of the region, without detailing specific objects and the scale of destruction.

Rescuers and other emergency services are working at the impact sites. Liquidation of the consequences of the attack is ongoing.
