The new mobile operator U Mobile officially launched in Ukraine
U Mobile, a mobile virtual network operator, has officially started operating in Ukraine after several weeks of pre-orders. At the same time, the operator 3Mob is ceasing to connect new subscribers to its tariffs, while existing customers will continue to use their numbers and services without changes.
This was announced by U Mobile, whose services are provided by LLC "TriMob".
The new brand launches the "Simka" line of tariffs for individuals. It includes packages with 15 GB or 60 GB of mobile internet per month.
One of U Mobile's features is billing for a full calendar month - from the first to the last day. This differs from the four-week billing model common among large Ukrainian mobile operators.
Users can also get a new U Mobile number or transfer their current number from another company to the operator via MNP.
The launch of U Mobile also means the gradual phase-out of the 3Mob brand for new connections. The company announced that it will no longer connect new subscribers to 3Mob tariff plans.
At the same time, nothing changes for existing customers. Their numbers, account balances, tariff plans, and connected services remain active. Service will also continue through the usual channels.
Current 3Mob subscribers are offered to switch to new U Mobile tariffs if they wish. To change the tariff plan, the company suggests sending an SMS with the digit 0 to 2203 or contacting the contact center.
LLC "TriMob", which provides services under the new brand, is headed by Oleg Boyko. The company is owned by "Ukrtelecom".
Earlier it was reported about the preparation for the launch of U Mobile. At that time, the preliminary parameters of tariffs with 15 and 60 GB of mobile internet were known, but the operator itself had not announced the start of operations yet.
On August 28, "Ukrtelecom" already officially announced U Mobile and opened pre-orders for the "Simka" and "Optyka+Simka" products. The current announcement means the project's transition from the announcement and pre-order stage to the actual launch.
