Kravchenko refused state protection before leaving Ukraine

Former Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko temporarily refused personal state protection on the night of September 14 and crossed the Ukrainian-Polish border about an hour and a half later. This is according to a publication by Ukrainska Pravda, which reconstructed the chronology of his actions before leaving Ukraine.

According to the publication, Kravchenko's statement on temporary refusal of personal protection by the State Protection Department is dated approximately 1:00 AM on September 14.

Even earlier, at 11:19 PM on September 13, according to UP, Kravchenko entered information about the suspicion of NABU Director Semen Kryvonos into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations.

Thus, about two hours passed between entering the information into the URPI and the statement on refusal of state protection. About another hour and a half later - at 2:30 AM - Kravchenko crossed the border through the "Shehyni" checkpoint. According to UP sources in law enforcement, he left in a service vehicle.

Ukrainska Pravda notes that this sequence of events may indicate advance preparation for departure. However, this is a conclusion of the publication, not a fact established by law enforcement.

Kravchenko himself confirmed being outside Ukraine, but stated that he went on a business trip for meetings with international partners. He explained that he plans to inform them about the situation surrounding Ukrainian anti-corruption bodies.

According to UP, Kravchenko's wife left Ukraine back on September 12 - the day before his departure. She crossed the border with Moldova and then headed to Romania.

Already after Kravchenko's departure, on September 14, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy suspended him from the post of Prosecutor General. The Prosecutor General's Office stated on the same day that the information about notifying NABU Director Kryvonos of suspicion is untrue.
