Currency market froze awaiting Fed decision

On Wednesday, September 16, in the first half of the day, the same picture as yesterday is repeating on the interbank currency market: low-activity trading in a narrow range of 44.62-44.66 UAH. Quotes are literally a couple of kopecks lower than yesterday's. As yesterday, buyers ready to take at any price are not visible today: importers have convinced themselves that the National Bank is not going to buy or let the situation "drift", and have calmed down.

The euro on Ukraine's interbank currency market on Wednesday is trading in the range of 51.48-51.57 UAH on the "bid" position. Compared with yesterday, the euro's fluctuation range has narrowed by 2 times. On the international FOREX currency market, the euro today is fluctuating between 1.1532 and 1.1556 dollars; the market is awaiting the evening meeting of the US Federal Reserve on the discount rate.

Price tags for cash dollars in the capital have not changed compared with yesterday: today at lunchtime wholesale exchange offices in Kyiv are also selling dollars at 44.77 UAH. In Odesa dollars are sold at 44.80 UAH, in Lviv - at 44.81 UAH, in Mykolaiv - at 44.83 UAH, in Poltava - at 44.85 UAH.

By 12:30 Ukrainian banks are selling dollars at prices from 44.78 UAH at the Lviv branch of Clearing House Bank to 45.15 UAH at Metbank in Zaporizhzhia. As for the euro, at the moment it can be purchased cheapest at 51.78 UAH at Creditwest Bank.

Oil prices have been moving in a wide range for the fourth day already. The price of the most popular brand, Brent, is fluctuating today within $107.16 - 108.58 per barrel - at the same level as yesterday.

On cryptocurrency exchanges, prices for major cryptocurrencies continue to be feverish. Thus, Bitcoin (BTC) on the most popular cryptocurrency exchange Binance dropped yesterday to $74,967.97 per coin, and Ethereum (ETH) - to $2,358.88 per coin. Currently Bitcoin is sold at $75,920-75,950 per coin, and Ethereum - at $2,403-2,408 per coin.
