Gasoline rises faster than diesel: price comparison at Ukrainian gas stations
Retail fuel prices in Ukraine continued to rise on September 16. The average price of A-95 gasoline rose by more than a hryvnia per day - to 87.25 UAH/l, while diesel fuel went up to 97.92 UAH/l. Among the major networks, UPG raised diesel to the level of WOG and SOCAR - now all three operators average 99.90 UAH/l.
This is evidenced by data from the daily monitoring of the Consulting Group "A-95".
After the sharp price increase the day before, growth continued, although for diesel the pace somewhat slowed. Meanwhile, regular A-95 again added more than a hryvnia per day.
Average A-95 rose by another 1.08 UAH
The largest increase among main fuel types over the day was seen for A-95 gasoline - by 1.08 UAH/l, to 87.25 UAH/l. Premium A-95+ gained 1.05 UAH and now averages 91.16 UAH/l.
Diesel rose by 86 kopecks, to 97.92 UAH/l. Thus, the average price of diesel fuel across the country is now less than 2.1 UAH below the 100 UAH/l mark. A-92 added 84 kopecks, while autogas - 25 kopecks.
| Fuel type | September 16, UAH/l | September 15, UAH/l | Change, UAH/l |
|---|---|---|---|
| A-92 | 82.51 | 81.67 | +0.84 |
| A-95 | 87.25 | 86.17 | +1.08 |
| A-95+ | 91.16 | 90.11 | +1.05 |
| Diesel | 97.92 | 97.06 | +0.86 |
| Autogas | 43.91 | 43.66 | +0.25 |
UPG raised diesel to WOG and SOCAR level
Among the eight largest operators, UPG reviewed prices most noticeably on September 16. A-95 and A-95+ across the network immediately rose by 2 UAH/l - to 89.90 and 91.90 UAH/l respectively. Diesel added another hryvnia to reach 99.90 UAH/l, and autogas went up by 1.60 UAH - to 45.50 UAH/l.
As a result, UPG matched WOG and SOCAR in diesel price. In these two networks, diesel did not rise over the last day and also costs 99.90 UAH/l. At OKKO, diesel remained at 99.50 UAH/l.
Meanwhile, OKKO and WOG raised gasoline A-95 and A-95+ by another hryvnia. In the first network they cost 90.90 and 93.90 UAH/l, respectively; in the second - 89.90 and 92.90 UAH/l.
UKRNAFTA this time raised diesel the most - immediately by 2 UAH/l, to 96.90 UAH/l. Gasoline A-95 and A-95+ rose by a hryvnia.

At AMIC, all three main types of light fuel added about a hryvnia: A-95 costs 86.90 UAH/l, A-95+ - 89.90 UAH/l, and diesel - about 98.01 UAH/l.
A notable increase also occurred at BRSM-Nafta: A-95 rose on average by 1.77 UAH, to 84.44 UAH/l, and diesel - by 1.59 UAH, to 94.94 UAH/l. At the same time, among the top 8, this network remains the cheapest for A-95, diesel and autogas.
SOCAR did not change prices for gasoline and diesel, but autogas rose by an average of about 66 kopecks, to 45.13 UAH/l. KLO did not revise prices for main fuel types during the day.
Regional networks saw jumps of 2-3 UAH
Outside the top-8, changes at some operators were even sharper. Green Wave raised A-95 and diesel immediately by 3 UAH/l - to 88.80 and 99.80 UAH/l respectively.
"Rur Group" increased the average price of A-95 and diesel by 2 UAH - to 85.50 and 99.90 UAH/l, and autogas - by 1.70 UAH, to 45.50 UAH/l. At VostokGaz, A-95 and diesel also rose by 2 UAH/l, autogas - by a hryvnia.
At the same time, not all movement was upward. Neftek reduced A-92 immediately by 2 UAH, to 82.99 UAH/l, while diesel and autogas - by a hryvnia, to 97.99 and 43.99 UAH/l respectively.
Thus, after yesterday's approach of diesel to the psychological mark of 100 UAH/l, growth continued. If on September 15 WOG and SOCAR were at 99.90 UAH/l, then on September 16 UPG joined them. Simultaneously, the average diesel price across Ukraine has already approached 98 UAH/l.
