Russian troops struck an industrial park in the Korosten district of the Zhytomyr region. Two people were killed and two others were injured in the attack. Fires broke out in the production and warehouse buildings on the territory of the civilian enterprise.

The head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Bunechko, reported the strike on the evening of September 17. Initially, one death and two injuries were reported, but by the morning of September 18, the death toll had risen to two.

According to updated data from the Regional Military Administration, two injured people are in hospitals in the Zhytomyr region. Their condition is assessed as moderate.

The State Emergency Service reported that as a result of the Russian strikes in Korosten district, warehouse and production buildings caught fire. During repeated air raid warnings, rescuers had to suspend work and move to a safe place.

Demining experts from the State Emergency Service checked the area for explosive objects, after which the fires were extinguished. A total of 56 rescuers and 17 units of equipment were involved in the work. Emergency services and volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross Rapid Response Unit also worked.

As of the morning of September 18, rescuers were completing the removal of debris. At the same time, specialists are assessing the scale of damage caused to the civilian enterprise.
