Tobacco companies in Ukraine increase revenues in half a year, but earn less
The total net profit of tobacco companies that published comparable financial statements for the first half of 2025 and 2026 amounted to 6.5 billion UAH. This is 8% less than a year earlier, although their total revenue grew by 10% - to 198.18 billion UAH.
Such data are provided by Opendatabot. The study compared the indicators of 41 companies that filed financial statements for the first half of both 2025 and 2026. In total, this year 50 enterprises of the industry filed reports for six months - 13 fewer than last year.
The revenue of 41 companies increased by 18.16 billion UAH over the year. Revenues grew in 26 enterprises, while in 14 they decreased.
The largest revenue in the first half of the year was shown by the company "DLS" - 61.08 billion UAH. The second place was taken by "Philip Morris Sales and Distribution" with 32.15 billion UAH, the third - by "JT International Company Ukraine" with 23.6 billion UAH.
The top five also included "British American Tobacco Sales and Marketing Ukraine" with revenue of 19.94 billion UAH and "Global Tobacco" with 11.69 billion UAH.
The largest net profit among the top 10 companies by revenue was received by "JT International Ukraine" - about 1.88 billion UAH. "JT International Company Ukraine" earned 1.65 billion UAH, and "British American Tobacco Sales and Marketing Ukraine" - 906.5 million UAH.
At the same time, "Philip Morris Sales and Distribution", which took second place in revenue, finished the half-year with a loss of 387.4 million UAH.
Despite the overall reduction in the industry's net profit, the share of profitable companies increased. 29 out of 41 enterprises, or 71%, finished the half-year in the black. A year earlier, their share was 63%. The number of unprofitable companies decreased from 14 to 11.
The number of market participants is also growing. As of September 2026, there are 1,101 active companies registered in Ukraine in the tobacco sector. In the first eight months of the year, 39 new enterprises appeared, while eight ceased operations. Thus, the net increase amounted to 31 companies.
At the same time, the pace of emergence of new enterprises remains lower than pre-war. For comparison, during the same period of 2021, the number of tobacco companies in Ukraine increased by 82 net.
