Logistics warehouses, likely Nova Poshta, burn near Odesa after night attack

On the morning of September 22, a large-scale fire broke out in a warehouse area near Usatove, near Odesa, following a night Russian attack. Local Telegram channels report that, according to preliminary data, the warehouses involved are linked to Nova Poshta.

In videos published since morning, a large column of thick smoke is visible rising over the area and can be seen from Odesa. The fire has been ongoing for at least several hours.

At the same time, as of morning, Nova Poshta had not officially confirmed that the facility in Usatove belongs to the company. Also, there is currently no official information on the area of the fire, the extent of damage, or possible casualties.

After the night attack, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed strikes on logistics and port infrastructure in Odesa Oblast. The Russian agency asserts that two logistics centers in Odesa, the Nova Poshta logistics center in Chornomorsk, as well as port infrastructure facilities in Reni were hit.

In addition, the Russian side claimed a strike on a dry cargo ship at sea that was allegedly heading to Odesa. There is currently no independent confirmation of these claims, nor of Russian claims that the cargo at the attacked facilities was for military purposes.

This is not the first attack on Nova Poshta's logistics infrastructure in Odesa Oblast in recent weeks. On August 31, a Russian drone struck the company's innovative terminal in Odesa, destroying a key sorting line. At that time, the company reported that the equipment was beyond repair.

On September 1, this terminal suffered a repeat attack. Another strike on a Nova Poshta facility in Odesa occurred on September 12, when a driver of a carrier company and a subcontractor employee were injured.
