After Russian attacks, power outages occurred in seven regions - Ukrenergo
After night Russian attacks and artillery shelling on the morning of September 22, new power outages were recorded in seven regions of Ukraine. Some consumers were left without electricity in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
This was reported by Ukrenergo. In regions where the security situation allows, emergency restoration work is already underway. Power engineers are trying to restore power to consumers as soon as possible.
Particularly large-scale consequences were recorded in Chernihiv region. As a result of the Russian attack on an energy facility in the neighboring region, about 100,000 subscribers in Koriukivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi, Nizhyn and Chernihiv districts were left without electricity. Power engineers have begun restoring power supply.
On the night of September 22, Dnipropetrovsk region was also under a massive attack. Russian troops struck industrial enterprises in Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and Pavlohrad, after which fires broke out. In Dnipro, an enterprise and warehouse premises were damaged.
Russia also attacked Kyiv and Kyiv region. In the capital's Dniprovskyi district, a five-story residential building was damaged, and a fire broke out. According to the State Emergency Service, four people were injured, three of them hospitalized.
In addition to the consequences of shelling, some consumers were left without power due to bad weather. Heavy rain and wind caused local outages in Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. Power company crews are repairing damaged power lines.
Against the backdrop of worsening weather, electricity consumption in Ukraine increased. As of 09:30 on September 22, it was 4.5% higher than the previous day. Ukrenergo explains this by cloudy and rainy weather, which reduced the efficiency of household solar power plants and increased electricity consumption from the general grid.
The energy system operator called for economical use of electricity throughout the day, especially between 10:00 and 22:00.
