For the second day in a row, there are power outages in Kyiv region after Russian attacks

In the Kyiv region, for the second day in a row, new power outages are being recorded as a result of Russian attacks. At the same time, electricity consumption in Ukraine continues to grow, so energy workers urge people to use powerful appliances sparingly. This was reported by “Ukrenergo”.

As of the morning of September 23, new outages due to hostilities and attacks on energy infrastructure were recorded in Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv regions.

The day before, on September 22, “Ukrenergo” also reported new outages in the Kyiv region after Russian drone attacks and shelling. Thus, the region remains among those where Russian strikes lead to power supply disruptions for the second day in a row.

Emergency restoration work is already underway at damaged facilities, where the security situation allows. Energy workers are trying to bring the equipment back into operation and supply consumers as soon as possible.

At the same time, the load on the power system is growing. As of 09:30 on September 23, electricity consumption was 1.2% higher than at the same time the previous day.

“Ukrenergo” explains this is due to cloudy weather in most regions. Because of it, household solar power plants produce less electricity, so households increase consumption from the general grid.

The daily maximum on September 22 occurred in the evening hours and remained at the level of the previous day.

“Ukrenergo” asks Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly and not turn on several powerful electrical appliances simultaneously between 10:00 and 22:00. The company emphasizes that the situation in the power system may change.
