Russia attacked Kyiv's railway infrastructure: Ukrzaliznytsia denied damage to the station

During the morning Russian attack on Kyiv on September 23, the capital's railway infrastructure came under fire. One Ukrzaliznytsia employee sustained shrapnel wounds. At the same time, the Central Railway Station, near which explosions were reported throughout the morning, is not damaged.

This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia and the company's CEO Oleksandr Pertsovskyi.

According to Pertsovskyi, the injured railwayman was returning home after finishing his shift. The man was hospitalized and is receiving the necessary medical care.

The head of UZ stated that during the prolonged attacks on the capital, the railway infrastructure was also targeted. Railway workers are eliminating the consequences of the strikes, but during repeated threats, employees are taken to safe places.

Because of this, the attack may affect the punctuality of train departures from Kyiv. Passengers are advised to check the current status of flights on the carrier's official resources.

Throughout the morning, local Telegram channels published videos of explosions and smoke and reported several strikes in the area of the railway station. At the same time, the exact number and locations of these hits were not confirmed by official services.

Against the background of these reports, Ukrzaliznytsia separately emphasized that Kyiv's Central Station is not damaged.

At the same time, the capital's mayor Vitali Klitschko reported the fall of a Russian drone on a four-story business center in the Holosiivskyi district. Emergency services were dispatched to the site. Officially, this event was not linked to the Central Station.

Ukrzaliznytsia urged passengers during air alerts not to stay near railway facilities and to move to shelters regardless of the threat level.

During the yellow alert level, boarding and alighting of passengers at the Central Station and Darnytsia station is carried out only through underground premises.

If due to security restrictions a passenger misses their flight, the carrier announced the possibility of returning 100% of the ticket price or continuing the journey on the next train.
