Russian attack damages a data center in Kyiv: internet disruptions occurred

As a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv on September 23, one of the capital's data centers was affected. The damage has already caused problems in the operation of telecommunications equipment and internet disruptions for some users.

Operator UTELS reported that its node equipment is located in the damaged data center. Currently, it remains without power supply.

Due to this, disruptions in the network operation and access to the company's services are possible. UTELS emergency repair crews are already working on site and trying to restore power and equipment operation.

Provider "Pavutina" also reported problems after the data center damage. The company announced a large-scale accident and warned that some of its subscribers may temporarily remain without communication.

The provider has also sent specialists for restoration work. The timeline for full network restoration is not currently being announced.

From the operators' statements, it is not clear whether they are referring to the same data center. The companies do not disclose the name of the facility or its exact location.

That same morning, Kyiv suffered a series of Russian attacks. According to city authorities, hits and fires were recorded in several districts of the capital, including on transport and other infrastructure facilities.

The strikes on September 23 have already caused disruptions in various elements of the city's infrastructure. Earlier, "Ukrzaliznytsia" also reported damage to the railway infrastructure of the capital, although Kyiv Central Station was not affected.
