New blackouts occurred in five regions following Russian strikes

On the morning of August 12, new blackouts were recorded in Ukraine as a result of Russian attacks. Damage to power grids has occurred in Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions.

According to Ukrenergo, the outages were caused by Russian drone attacks and artillery shelling of front-line regions. The company did not specify the number of customers left without power in each of the five regions.

Emergency restoration work is already underway in areas where the security situation allows. Power engineers are trying to restore electricity supply to all consumers as quickly as possible.

A separate accident occurred at an energy facility in Chernihiv region. As a result, about 19,000 subscribers in Chernihiv district and the city of Slavutych were left without power. Specialists of Chernihivoblenergo are already working to restore supply.

The operator did not disclose the cause of this accident. As of now, there is no official confirmation that it was related to a Russian shelling.

Local Telegram channels also reported power outages in parts of Odesa following a new Russian attack. Ukrenergo confirmed the blackout in Odesa region, but the local grid operator has not separately reported outages specifically in the regional center.

Earlier, as a result of a Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia, about 1,200 consumers in one of the city's districts were left without power.
