Interbank market holds on NBU interventions, cash dollar has already risen in price

On the interbank foreign exchange market on Friday, August 21, there is a balance of supply and demand. Trading is carried out in a narrow range of 44.65-44.68 UAH. However, today the balance was achieved due to the fact that the National Bank, almost immediately after the start of trading, entered the interbank market with another intervention and began to satisfy buyers' requests.

According to treasurers, if the NBU leaves, quotes will immediately go up, because there are enough buyers and few sellers.

The euro on the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine on Friday is trading in the range of 52.18-52.31 UAH on the "bid" position - slightly higher than yesterday's prices. After a short pause yesterday, the euro again rose sharply and by the time of writing reached 1.17116 dollars. The reason for the growth is a reaction to the decision of the US Treasury, about which the portal "Kurs Ukrainy" wrote earlier.

Cash dollar price tags in the capital have increased compared to yesterday. If on Thursday afternoon wholesale exchange offices in Kyiv were selling dollars at 44.79-44.80 UAH, today it is 44.83-44.85 UAH. In Kharkiv and Chernivtsi, the dollar is sold today at 44.85 UAH, in Odesa, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi – at 44.90 UAH.

Ukrainian banks by 12:00 sell the dollar at prices from 44.80 UAH in Alliance and Trust Capital banks to 45.10 UAH in Zaporizhzhia Metbank. As for the euro, at the moment it is cheapest to buy at 52.18 UAH in some branches of Poltava-Bank in right-bank Ukraine.

Oil prices began to decline after a sharp rise in previous days. The price of the popular Brent brand today fell to $91.33 per barrel and by the time of writing is trading in the range of $91.55-91.68 per barrel.

On crypto exchanges for the third day in a row, the price of major cryptocurrencies continues to grow. Thus, bitcoin on the popular crypto exchange Binance today reached $79,500 per coin (daily growth was about 8.5%), and Ethereum – up to $2,447.98 per coin (daily growth was about 5%). Currently, Bitcoin is sold at $77,940 – 77,960, and Ethereum – at $2,400-2,410 per coin.
