Maersk ceases operations with a large container terminal in Boryspil

"Maersk Ukraine" is ceasing operations with the container and intermodal terminal BIT Vantage in Boryspil. The company explained the decision with "operational reasons" without specifying them. The site has an area of 47 thousand square meters with direct rail connection to Boryspil station.

Maersk Ukraine informed its customers about this.

The company noted that it is ceasing operations with the terminal in Boryspil, operated by BIT Vantage LLC. Customers whose import cargo has not yet arrived at the terminal, is in transit, or is just planned for shipment, were advised to contact Maersk's intermodal department for further instructions.

The company did not provide any other details regarding the reasons for the decision or which facilities will handle the relevant cargo in the future.

What is known about the BIT Vantage terminal

BIT Vantage positions itself as an operator of a rail and intermodal terminal specializing in container transportation and cargo transshipment between rail and road transport.

The terminal is located in Boryspil at 54 Pryvokzalna St. Its total area is 47 thousand square meters, the length of its own railway tracks is 1.7 km. The site has direct access to Boryspil station, two working railway tracks of 350 meters each, and a container storage capacity of up to 1250 TEU. There is also a warehouse for agricultural products with a capacity of 1000 tons on the premises.

The operator's services include block trains to Odesa, Chornomorsk, and major EU ports, truck delivery, container storage and repair, container depot, customs clearance, flexitank installation, and loading grain into containers.

The legal entity BIT VANTAZH LLC was registered in July 2023. Its main activity is auxiliary activities in transportation. The owner of the company is Vadym Nemyrovskyi. At the end of 2025, the enterprise received 18.7 million UAH of revenue and 1.28 million UAH of net profit, and its assets amounted to 56.5 million UAH.

BIT Vantage is linked to the TGL group

BIT Vantage itself reports that it operates block trains and freight forwarding in permanent partnership with the international forwarder TGL, which has been working in Ukraine since 2007.

The connection between the companies is also at the ownership level. The ultimate beneficial owner of TGL Ukraine LLC is also listed as Vadym Nemyrovskyi. In 2025, this company received 35.6 million UAH of revenue.

In addition, according to court materials, BIT Vantage has rented the terminal premises at 54 Pryvokzalna St. from Boryspil Interterminal LLC since early 2024. In August of that year, BIT Vantage entered into an agreement with TGL Ukraine for container handling, their storage, and organization of cargo delivery through this site.

Boryspil Interterminal is also controlled by Vadym Nemyrovskyi - he owns 99.99% of the company. Until August 2023, this legal entity was named TGL Ukraine.

Kyiv region's logistics infrastructure is regularly hit by Russian strikes

Maersk has not stated that terminating cooperation with BIT Vantage is related to the security situation or Russian strikes. The company mentioned only "operational reasons", so there is currently no direct link between these events.

However, the decision was made against the backdrop of regular Russian attacks on the warehouse and logistics infrastructure of Kyiv and the region.

For instance, on August 5, a massive attack caused destruction and fires at warehouses and logistics facilities of Rozetka, Nova Poshta, and Epicentr. In late August, Russian strikes damaged or destroyed warehouse facilities of several large companies in Kyiv region, including Nova Poshta's sorting depot, Comfy's distribution center, and Roshen's finished goods warehouse.

On the night of August 28, a strike drone destroyed a Nova Poshta sorting facility in Sviatopetrivske. According to the company, no employees were injured.

On September 3, after a Russian attack, a large-scale fire broke out at warehouse facilities in the Boryspil district. According to local sources, it was the pharmaceutical logistics of the company Biocon, but at the time of publication, the ownership of the damaged facility had not been officially confirmed by the company.

Maersk has already restructured routes due to Russian strikes

This is not the first major change in Maersk's Ukrainian logistics in recent months. On July 22, the company temporarily suspended service through the Chornomorsk Fishing Port due to a situation affecting the operational area.

Import cargo that was to be unloaded in Chornomorsk was redirected by Maersk to the Romanian port of Constanta. For export cargo, the company also suggested a change of loading port to Constanta.

Subsequently, Maersk launched a temporary rail service between Constanta and Ukrainian inland terminals for import and export shipments. The company explained the decision as due to deteriorating conditions in the ports of Odesa region. The service was planned to be used until the situation stabilized, with destinations including Kyiv, Odesa, and Ternopil.

Thus, ceasing operations with BIT Vantage is another change in Maersk's internal logistics network in Ukraine amidst the restructuring of routes through the Black Sea and the growing role of rail transportation via Romania.
