Manufacturing became the main source of Ukraine's tax revenues

Manufacturing remains the largest source of tax revenues among the main sectors of the Ukrainian economy. For January-August 2026, enterprises in the sector provided 17.9% of all taxes, fees, and payments to the consolidated budget.

This was reported by the State Tax Service of Ukraine.

Compared to the same period last year, payments of manufacturing enterprises increased by UAH 44.8 billion, or 18.2%.

Second place in contributions to the budget is taken by wholesale and retail trade together with repair of motor vehicles. This sector accounted for 16.3% of the total payments.

In monetary terms, trade paid UAH 31.6 billion more than in January-August 2025. The increase was 13.5%.

Thus, only manufacturing and trade together provided 34.2% of all tax revenues to the consolidated budget of Ukraine.

Another 11.9% of payments came from public administration, defense, and compulsory social insurance. Revenues from this sector increased by UAH 30.7 billion, or 18.9%.

Financial and insurance activities formed 10.8% of total payments. At the same time, among the largest sectors, it showed the highest growth rate: tax payment increased by 25.5%, or UAH 35.7 billion.

Manufacturing holds first place for most of the year. For the first half of the year, it accounted for 17.6% of all payments to the consolidated budget, and for seven months the share increased to 17.8%. Over eight months, the figure rose to 17.9%.

At the same time, the structure of tax revenues changed slightly during the year. In January, trade had the largest share—19.5%, while manufacturing provided 16.9%. Subsequently, manufacturing moved to first place and retained it.
