Russian strikes on Ukrainian enterprises, production facilities and warehouse infrastructure since the beginning of 2026 have caused damages which the government estimates at $7.7 billion. During this period, over 1 million square meters of real estate for various purposes has been destroyed or significantly damaged in Ukraine. A significant part of the destruction falls on warehouse and logistics facilities.

Such data was provided by Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi in an interview with BBC News Ukraine. The damage assessment is current as of October 17, 2026.

According to the head of government, the losses include damaged production premises, other enterprise facilities, as well as goods that were stored in warehouses.

The large-scale destruction is forcing Ukrainian companies to change their work organization and rebuild supply chains.

In particular, due to damage to logistics infrastructure, enterprises have to use longer delivery routes for products. This increases transportation costs and creates additional financial burden on business.

At the same time, according to the Prime Minister's assessment, Ukrainian companies continue to resume operations after shelling and find alternative ways to ensure supplies. Thanks to this, goods continue to reach stores despite damage to warehouses and disruption of usual logistics routes.

Koretskyi also acknowledged that the state does not have enough funds to compensate for all business losses.

He noted that the government maintains constant contact with business representatives and discusses possible assistance mechanisms. Among the main needs of companies are compensation for damaged property, additional funding and restoration of production activities.

However, budget capabilities are limited, so authorities have to determine support priorities and look for new tools for enterprises affected by Russian attacks.

The Prime Minister also reported that the government shared with businesses available information about the nature of Russian strikes and related risks. At the same time, according to him, it is impossible to foresee all possible attack targets in advance.

Earlier "Ukraine Course" reported about other economic consequences of Russian shelling. According to the assessment of the head of the budget committee of the Verkhovna Rada Roksolana Pidlasa, in August and September revenues to the general fund of the state budget were 32 billion hryvnias less than planned. She named strikes on Ukrainian enterprises as one of the main reasons.

At the same time, these indicators reflect different types of economic losses: the estimate of $7.7 billion concerns destruction of property and goods, while budget shortfalls characterize problems with fulfilling the state revenue plan.
