Kraken cryptocurrency exchange

Kraken – one of the largest and oldest digital asset exchanges in the world. It was registered in 2011, and just two years later it began offering cryptocurrency exchange services. The first trades were in BTC, LTC, EUR. In 2014 the exchange became the leader in Bitcoin-to-euro exchange volume.

Besides its status as one of the first, the crypto exchange has deservedly earned a reputation as one of the safest. Despite numerous hacker attempts, the service has never been breached.

Kraken became the first cryptocurrency platform to introduce a full audit system (Proof-of-Reserves), which cryptographically verifies that the balances of exchange users match the funds held in the service's wallets.
