Ex-commander of Air Force logistics suspected of 20 million UAH enrichment

Former commander of logistics of the Ukrainian Air Force Command has been given a new suspicion - of illicit enrichment of at least 20 million UAH. According to Ukrainian media, it is about Andrii Ukrainets, who is already involved in a case regarding possible abuses during construction of shelters for military aviation.

According to investigators, during 2020-2025 the serviceman acquired property whose value exceeds his lawful income by at least 20 million UAH.

Law enforcement officers claim that the assets were registered in the names of the suspect's parents, son, cohabitant, and kum. Meanwhile, the actual owner and manager of the property allegedly remained the serviceman himself.

The case involves six apartments in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, and Zhytomyr, three residential houses in Zhytomyr region, apartments in Bukovel, six land plots, garages, and other non-residential premises.

The investigation is also verifying the origin of four cars, including an Audi Q7 and an Audi Q5. Lawful income that could explain the acquisition of all these assets, according to the investigators, has not been established.

The suspect's actions have been classified under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - illicit enrichment. He has also been served a motion for pre-trial detention with the possibility of bail amounting to over 21 million UAH.

This is already the second suspicion against Ukrainets in 2026. In February, he and the then-head of the SBU Directorate in Zhytomyr region, Volodymyr Kompanichenko, were accused of possible abuses during the construction of protective structures for aircraft.

1.4 billion UAH was allocated for the construction of shelters. The investigation stated that the structures did not meet engineering protection requirements, and officials allegedly offered 13.8 million UAH for the non-interference of military counterintelligence and positive audit conclusions. During the arrest, law enforcement officers seized $320,000.

At the end of February, the court placed Ukrainets under arrest with an alternative bail of 7 million UAH. In March, the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) upheld this preventive measure.

The new suspicion does not mean proven guilt. Only a court can make a final decision in the case.
