German plant in Zhytomyr region halts operations after Russian attack

The "Kromberg & Schubert Zhytomyr" enterprise, which produces components for the automotive industry, has temporarily suspended operations indefinitely following a Russian attack.

The company reported that the plant's production facilities and infrastructure sustained significant damage and large-scale destruction. At the same time, no employees were harmed as a result of the attack.

"Kromberg & Schubert Zhytomyr" is a civilian manufacturing facility with 100% German investment. The plant has been operating in the Zhytomyr region for 11 years and provides jobs for approximately 3,500 people.

Possible timelines for the resumption of production will be known after the completion of a technical damage assessment and determination of the scope of necessary work.

Earlier, the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration reported that one of the region’s key budget-forming enterprises was damaged as a result of the massive attack. The consequences of the strike were contained by units of the State Emergency Service, and law enforcement officers worked at the scene.

The regional authorities, together with local self-government bodies, are exploring ways to assist the enterprise. The Regional State Administration emphasized its interest in preserving the production, supporting its employees, and creating conditions for the fastest possible resumption of the plant's operations.
