Genesis showed the most powerful electric crossover in its lineup
The premium brand of Hyundai Motor Group Genesis has officially unveiled the GV90 - its new flagship full-size electric crossover. The world premiere of the model took place in San Francisco, where the company showed the standard GV90 and a more luxurious version, the GV90 Neolun.
The novelty became the production continuation of the Neolun concept presented in 2024. The GV90 will take its place at the top of the Genesis model lineup and will become the brand's largest electric vehicle.
The crossover received a battery with a capacity of 123.5 kWh - the largest among Hyundai Motor Group electric vehicles. For the standard version, a range of about 500 km on a single charge is claimed.
At a fast charging station with a power of 350 kW, the battery charge can be increased from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes.
The GV90 is equipped with two electric motors and all-wheel drive. Their combined maximum power is 490 kW, or about 657 hp, and the maximum torque is 800 Nm. This makes the new product one of the most powerful production electric vehicles of Hyundai Motor Group.
The length of the GV90 is 5285 mm, width - 2030 mm, height - 1825 mm, and the wheelbase reaches 3245 mm. The car also received a multi-chamber air suspension and a rear-wheel steering system that can turn up to five degrees.

The Neolun version received unusual doors
One of the main features of the top-of-the-line GV90 Neolun are the so-called coach doors: the front and rear doors open towards each other. In the opening, there is no conventional B-pillar.
Genesis calls the Neolun Arch Gate structure the first production system of its type with a hidden central pillar and independent door opening. To ensure the rigidity of the structure, reinforced steel elements are integrated into the doors themselves.
Inside the GV90 Neolun, the front seats can electrically rotate 180 degrees when the car is stationary. Thus, passengers in the first and second rows can sit facing each other.
The model also has an Executive Suite four-seat version with two separate rear seats. It received a refrigerator, tables and a radiant heating system inspired by the traditional Korean "ondol" heating.
Large screen and 25 speakers
In the central part of the dashboard, a retractable OLED display is installed. While driving, it displays navigation, multimedia and vehicle information, and when parked it can rise for viewing content on a larger screen.
Also included are a 25-inch head-up display and a Bang & Olufsen audio system with 25 speakers and Dolby Atmos support.
Another unusual solution is the removal of the conventional engine start button. Electronics are activated after opening the doors, after which to start driving it is enough to press the brake pedal and select the transmission mode.
The GV90 also received 12 airbags. Among them, Genesis claims the first roof airbag for a production vehicle that deploys along the glass part of the roof in the event of a rollover.
The new GV90 brings Genesis into the large premium electric SUV segment where the model will compete, among others, with the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV, Cadillac Escalade IQ and other expensive electric crossovers. The company has not yet disclosed prices for major international markets.
