Massive train delays continue in Ukraine for the second day: over 100 services behind schedule (Updated)

In Ukraine on August 28, large-scale delays of passenger trains continue due to the impact of hostilities. As of 08:31, Ukrzaliznytsia listed 112 services with schedule deviations, with the longest delay reaching 15 hours.

The most difficult situation remains with train No. 775/776 Sumy - Kyiv, which is behind schedule by 15 hours.

Three services are delayed by 12 hours at once: No. 69/70 Kremenchuk - Przemyśl, No. 131/132 Kremenchuk - Mukachevo and No. 129/130 Poltava - Mukachevo.

Over ten hours late is also train No. 143/144 Sumy - Rakhiv - by 10 hours 16 minutes. Service No. 103/104 Orilka - Lviv is delayed exactly 10 hours.

Among other significant schedule deviations:

  • No. 43/44 Dnipro - Ivano-Frankivsk - 9 hrs 33 min;
  • No. 13/14 Kyiv - Solotvyno - 9 hrs 28 min;
  • No. 773/774 Konotop - Zhmerynka - 9 hrs 19 min;
  • No. 7/8 Kharkiv - Odesa - 8 hrs 34 min;
  • No. 45/46 Kharkiv - Uzhhorod - 8 hrs 33 min;
  • No. 749/750 Kyiv - Vienna - 8 hrs 28 min;
  • No. 11/12 Lviv - Odesa - 7 hrs 51 min;
  • No. 93/94 Kharkiv - Chelm - 7 hrs 48 min.

In total, 75 services from the Ukrzaliznytsia list are delayed by at least two hours, 53 by three hours or more, 23 by at least six hours. In 13 cases the schedule deviation is at least eight hours.

The delays also affected international connections. In addition to the Kremenchuk - Przemyśl train with a 12-hour delay, Kyiv - Vienna is behind schedule by 8 hours 28 minutes, Kharkiv - Chelm by 7 hours 48 minutes, Kyiv - Przemyśl by 6 hours 15 minutes, Kyiv - Chișinău by 6 hours 11 minutes.

For the most delayed services, the system of Ukrzaliznytsia indicates the cause as the impact of hostilities. The company warns that estimated departure and arrival times are provisional and may change, so passengers should check the status of their train before traveling.

Mass disruptions have continued for the second day. On August 27, Ukrzaliznytsia also reported nearly a hundred delayed services after Russian attacks. Then the maximum deviation exceeded 15 hours.
