Budanov named the army's minimum mobilization need

The head of the President's Office, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that the Armed Forces need a monthly mobilization of 30,000 citizens, and urged to accept mobilization "as it is", according to Українська правда.

He said this in an interview broadcast on Friday as part of the unified telethon.

"Unfortunately, (we need) to accept it (mobilization) as it is. We cannot do otherwise. We must make up our minds and honestly say: we cannot mobilize fewer than 30,000 people per month. This is the minimum necessary number to sustain what we have."

Budanov also believes that with the appointment of Yevhen Khmara as Minister of Defense, nothing will change regarding mobilization.

"With Khmara's arrival, nothing substantial will change. Because the need is there — no fewer than 30,000 (citizens). And that is a huge number of people", — said the head of the President's Office.

"So no matter how we talk about changing the approach to conscription, the quantitative indicators will not change, and that means the number of dissatisfied people will also not change. Nothing can be done about it", — he added.

At the same time, Budanov expressed hope that it would be possible to some extent to change the approaches to "forced mobilization".

"I hope that we can somewhat change the approaches to this forced mobilization, which sometimes occurs. It is not everywhere, but such facts exist. We must fight this", — stated the head of the President's Office.

On August 19, Deputy Minister of Defense Liubov Halan, during a meeting of the temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada, stated that the Ministry of Defense will present a reform of the Territorial Recruitment Centers and Social Support in the "foreseeable future", but did not name specific dates.

The secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Roman Kostenko, stated that the Ukrainian authorities are preparing "radical" changes in the mobilization process, which will, in particular, affect the conscription age.
