After attacks on Kyiv region intensified, a large plant halted production

In Irpin, the restored-after-destruction Planeta Plastik plant has been halted indefinitely

The enterprise, nearly destroyed at the start of the full-scale war and later rebuilt, has again suspended operations due to the worsening security situation in the Kyiv region.

The Planeta Plastik plant in Irpin has halted production indefinitely. The decision was made amid intensified air attacks on the Kyiv region in recent days, Forbes reports citing a statement from the company.

When the enterprise will be able to resume work is not yet known. The company also did not report possible financial losses, reduction in supply volumes, or consequences of the stoppage for employees.

Planeta Plastik is a major Ukrainian manufacturer of polymer products. The company produces films for agriculture and industry, polymer sleeves for grain and feed storage, as well as polyethylene pipes for water supply, gas networks, and technical systems.

In 2022, the enterprise was severely damaged during the battles for Irpin. According to company management, about 90–95% of production capacity was destroyed, and warehouses and product stocks were wiped out.

After that, the plant began to be rebuilt. It was one of the first to resume production of polymer sleeves for grain storage, demand for which surged during the war due to problems with traditional storage and export infrastructure for agricultural products.

In September 2025, Planeta Plastik announced the launch of a new plant in Irpin for the production of polyethylene pipes. Its projected capacity exceeds 17,000 km of pipes per year, and its range includes pipes with diameters from 16 to 800 mm for water supply, gas, and technical systems. The products were planned to be supplied to both the Ukrainian market and for export.
