The Cabinet of Ministers appointed Ivan Fedorov as the Head of the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine. In this position, he replaced Serhiy Sukhomlyn, who was dismissed at his own request.

The personnel decisions were announced by the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.

The Cabinet also approved the dismissal of Fedorov from the position of Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration. Later, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, by a separate decree, dismissed him from this position in accordance with his submitted resignation.

Zelenskyy assigned the temporary duties of the Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration to Mykhailo Semikin, who previously worked as Fedorov's deputy.

Sukhomlyn left the Recovery Agency

Serhiy Sukhomlyn was dismissed from the position of Head of the Recovery Agency at his own request. He led the agency since September 2024.

In addition, the government dismissed Mykola Boiko from the position of First Deputy Head of the Agency.

Fedorov was appointed as the head of the agency from the date of the actual start of his official duties. The probationary period will be three months, and the appointment itself will be valid for the period of martial law and no longer than 12 months after its termination or cancellation.

Fedorov will be responsible for strategic infrastructure

Fedorov's possible move to the Recovery Agency became known the day before. On September 3, he said that the president offered him to head the agency and take responsibility for the protection of strategically important facilities throughout Ukraine.

According to Fedorov, one of the main tasks will be to strengthen the protection of infrastructure from Russian attacks and its rapid restoration. The experience gained in the Zaporizhzhia region is planned to be scaled to other regions.

Fedorov also said earlier that after moving to the new position he plans to remain involved in the security issues of the Zaporizhzhia region as co-chairman of the Regional Defense Council.

Ivan Fedorov had headed the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration since February 2024. Before that, he was the mayor of Melitopol.

The Recovery Agency implements state infrastructure projects, deals with the reconstruction of damaged facilities, road infrastructure, and projects for the protection of critical and energy infrastructure.
