Over 430 companies seek access to Ukrainian database of Russian trophy weapons
Over 430 Ukrainian and foreign companies have applied for access to the state platform TrophyLab, which contains technical data and research results of captured Russian weapons. The majority of applications came from foreign companies.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported this.
More than 130 Ukrainian arms and military equipment manufacturers have already applied for registration in TrophyLab. More than 300 more applications came from foreign companies.
Interest in the platform continues to grow. As recently as mid-July, the Ministry of Defense reported over 300 applications, with almost 200 coming from foreign defense companies from partner countries.
Database contains over 115 samples of Russian equipment
TrophyLab was launched in June as a single state portal for research on captured Russian weapons. The platform brings together manufacturers, engineers, scientists, laboratories, and international partners who can use the obtained data to create means of countering Russian equipment.
The TrophyLab catalog currently contains over 115 samples of Russian weapons and equipment in 79 categories. The platform provides access to results of over 225 studies, technical specifications, drawings, component information, photographs, and videos. Areas include missiles, UAVs, armored vehicles, aviation munitions, electronic warfare systems, and other weapons.
Companies can even receive physical samples
TrophyLab allows not only working with documentation online. Registered researchers can request a trophy sample or its fragments for their own laboratory analysis. The goal of this mechanism is to accelerate the creation of new technologies and means of countering Russian systems.
The database is filled with data by units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Security Service of Ukraine, and specialized research institutions.
At the same time, access to information is not automatic. Administrators check applicants, including for ties with Russia and being under Ukrainian or international sanctions. After the check, the applicant must sign relevant agreements and obligations.
The Ministry of Defense expects that access of Ukrainian and partner defense companies to the results of research on Russian equipment will help find vulnerabilities faster and create new countermeasure systems.
