ICEYE opens a satellite fleet control center in Warsaw

Satellite company ICEYE is opening a new technology center in Warsaw, from which it will control its entire satellite fleet. At the same time, the company is expanding its research and production capabilities in Poland and preparing to assemble complete satellites.

This was reported by Rzeczpospolita. The official opening of the Satellite Technology Center in Warsaw is scheduled for September 25.

The new headquarters houses an expanded Satellite Operations Center, from which the entire ICEYE constellation will be controlled. The company has also increased the area of laboratories where new solutions for satellite systems will be developed and tested.

By the end of 2028, ICEYE plans to invest at least PLN 120 million in Poland. One of the main projects will be the creation of a special "clean room" with controlled conditions, where complete satellites can be assembled, integrated, and tested.

Thus, the Warsaw site is to combine design, research, testing, and part of the production cycle. Currently, ICEYE has about a thousand employees worldwide, more than 150 of whom work in Poland.

Poland is already one of the company's key government clients. The country's armed forces have ordered six radar satellites from ICEYE under the MikroSAR program. Four spacecraft are already in orbit, and the contract allows for the launch of two more.

The satellites use synthetic aperture radar (SAR), which allows them to observe regardless of cloud cover, time of day, and most weather conditions. In May, ICEYE handed over the MikroSAR system to the Polish military, including operator training and ground infrastructure.

In parallel, ICEYE is deepening cooperation with the Polish defense industry. In September, the company and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa agreed to develop a concept for the MILSATCOM military satellite communication system, which envisages the creation of ground infrastructure and production capabilities in Poland.

The expansion in Warsaw comes amid ICEYE's rapid growth. According to Rzeczpospolita, in 2025 the company's revenue exceeded €250 million, and after a new funding round in mid-2026 its valuation exceeded €10 billion.
