Dollar fell on the interbank market amid NBU activity

On Friday, September 25, demand for non-cash currency on the interbank foreign exchange market decreased somewhat. Thanks to this, dollar quotes went down and by 12:00 fell to UAH 44.85 on the bid side with the active participation of the National Bank, which does not stop its foreign exchange interventions.

Last week, the NBU sold more than $1.2 billion; according to analysts of the "Kurs Ukrainy" portal, this week's volume of interventions will be no less, and rather even more. However, this allowed to once again keep the dollar exchange rate below the psychological level of UAH 45.

The euro on the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine on Friday is trading in the range of UAH 51.10-51.20 on the bid side. For the third day in a row, the euro on the interbank market is held at practically the same level. On the international foreign exchange market FOREX, the euro is correcting after a decline that lasted several days, and by the time of writing this article has already dropped to $1.13943.

Prices for cash dollars yesterday evening and this morning decreased somewhat from the highs reached yesterday at noon. Thus, in Kyiv wholesale exchange offices today sell dollars at UAH 44.92 (yesterday - at UAH 44.95). Sales rates also decreased in other cities: in Chernivtsi, the dollar is sold today at UAH 44.92, in Odesa and Zaporizhzhia - at UAH 44.95, in Kharkiv - at UAH 44.99, in Dnipro - exactly at UAH 45.00.

By 12:30, Ukrainian banks sell dollars at prices ranging from UAH 44.99 in branches of Bank Lviv in western Ukraine to UAH 45.45 in Zaporizhzhia's Metbank. As for the euro, at the moment it can be purchased cheapest at UAH 51.30 in the Kyiv branch of Sky Bank.

Oil prices are correcting after yesterday's rise. The price of the popular Brent grade today dropped to $97.63 per barrel and by the time of writing is trading in the range of $98.60-98.90 per barrel.

On cryptocurrency exchanges, there is a stabilization of prices for major cryptocurrencies after sharp movements in previous days and an attempt to go up again. Thus, Bitcoin (BTC) on the popular Binance exchange today rose to $84,888 per coin, and Ethereum (ETH) - to $2,718 per coin. Currently, Bitcoin is sold at $84,580-84,620 per coin, and Ethereum - at $2,701-2,708 per coin.
