Ministry of Defense tests AI system SPECTR for planning operations

The Artificial Intelligence Center A1 under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is developing the SPECTR system for analyzing combat data and planning operations. The solution is already being tested by several combat units.

SPECTR is intended to analyze received information, identify patterns, and formulate recommendations for planning operations and organizing processes in the military. Another task of the system is to automate some of the routine work at headquarters.

The Ministry of Defense notes that the use of AI should speed up the military's work with battlefield information. At the same time, the data must remain inside a secure environment.

According to the head of the A1 center, Danylo Tsvok, SPECTR is being developed as a tool that will help the military compare possible scenarios of actions and predict likely enemy moves. The system is designed to work with existing digital solutions of the Defense Forces, as well as on local devices intended for handling sensitive data.

The A1 center under the Ministry of Defense is engaged in implementing artificial intelligence in defense processes. Among its directions are combat data analysis, forecasting and modeling, development of autonomous systems, and creation of new management tools.
