Drone attack damaged the railway in three districts of the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation

In the Bryansk region of Russia, as a result of a drone attack, railway infrastructure was damaged in several sections at once. Part of a bridge collapsed on one of the stretches, and in total, 28 cars derailed in two districts.

This is reported by acting governor of the Bryansk region, Yegor Kovalchuk.

According to him, on the Dyatkovo - Lyudinovo railway stretch, part of a bridge collapsed as a result of the attack. After that, ten cars derailed.

Another incident occurred in the Unecha district. There, 18 empty gondola cars derailed. The Russian authorities claim that no one was injured as a result of the incident.

A third damaged section was recorded in the Navlya district. According to Kovalchuk, the strike damaged the railway tracks there, but train traffic did not stop. There is also no data on casualties.

Thus, according to reports from the Russian side, the consequences of one attack were recorded at least on three sections of the railway network of the Bryansk region. The exact scale of the bridge damage and the timeline for infrastructure restoration are currently not reported.

The Russian authorities accuse Ukraine of the attack. The Ukrainian side has not separately commented on the strikes on these railway facilities at the time of publication.

This is already the second large-scale attack on the railway infrastructure of the region in a few days. On September 26, in the Unecha district, the railway track was damaged, causing two freight trains to stop, a suburban route to be cancelled, and passenger trains to be delayed. At the station in Klintsy, a locomotive of a freight train was also damaged at that time.

The Bryansk region has an extensive railway network and directly borders Ukraine and Belarus. Freight and passenger routes connecting the central regions of Russia with the western regions pass through the region.
