Demand for currency increased pressure on the hryvnia on the interbank market
On Monday, September 28, demand for non-cash currency on the interbank foreign exchange market is again through the roof. Thanks to this, dollar quotes over 3 hours of trading rose by almost 20 kopecks – from 44.66 to 44.85 UAH on the 'bid' position. The National Bank sharply increased the pace and volume of its currency interventions, but there are still many buyers today, while exporters are habitually waiting to see how high the quotes will rise, not rushing to list their proceeds for sale.
The euro on the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine on Monday is trading in the range of 50.88-51.04 UAH on the 'bid' position - about 15 kopecks cheaper than last Friday. On the international currency market FOREX, the euro is trading in the range of 1.1369-1.1391 dollars in anticipation of news from the Middle East that could affect investor sentiment.
Price tags for cash dollars have somewhat decreased compared to last Friday. In Kyiv, wholesale exchange points of Kyiv are selling dollars today at 44.88-44.90 UAH. In Dnipro and Chernivtsi, the dollar is sold today at 44.90 UAH, in Mykolaiv – at 44.93 UAH, in Odesa – at 44.95 UAH, in Kropyvnytskyi and Khmelnytskyi – at exactly 45.00 UAH.
Ukrainian banks by 12:30 are selling dollars at prices from 44.88 UAH in Oxi Bank to 45.40 UAH in Zaporizhzhia's Metbank. As for the euro, at the moment the cheapest you can buy it for is 51.20 UAH, also in Oxi Bank.
Oil prices are rising again amid uncertainty in US-Iran negotiations. The price of the most popular Brent brand today reached $101.05 per barrel and at the time of writing this article is trading in the range of $100.77-100.83 per barrel.
On crypto exchanges, after some stabilization, prices for major cryptocurrencies have started to decline again. Thus, bitcoin (BTC) on the most popular crypto exchange Binance today dropped to $82,597.5 per coin, and Ethereum (ETH) – to $2,635.7 per coin. Currently, bitcoin is being sold at $82,730-82,770 per coin, and Ethereum - at $2,645-2,650 per coin.
