After a strike on a warehouse in Kyiv region, ammonia exceedance was recorded

In Brovary district of Kyiv region, a warehouse building was damaged as a result of a Russian attack. After the strike, a fire broke out, and in its zone a slight exceedance of ammonia concentration in the air was recorded.

This was reported by the head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration Timur Tkachenko.

Radioactive and chemical reconnaissance was carried out at the site. The fire has already been localized, but State Emergency Service rescuers continue to extinguish it.

According to the air monitoring station, directly in the fire zone a slight exceedance of ammonia NH3 was recorded. At the same time, in the city of Brovary itself no exceedance of permissible levels was found.

Kyiv Regional Military Administration emphasized that there is currently no threat to life and health of the population.

At the recorded ammonia concentration, prolonged stay in the contaminated zone can cause mild irritation of the nasal mucous membranes or a sore throat. Additional discomfort can be caused by combustion products, the smell of which spreads near the fire site.

Until the situation improves, residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed, spend less time outdoors, and drink enough water.

It is also recommended to temporarily turn off air conditioners. If you have an air purifier, turn it on at maximum power.

In case of worsening health, residents are advised to contact medical facilities.
