In Kyiv, infrastructure facility and educational institution damaged after combined attack

On the night of September 29, during another Russian attack on Kyiv, damage was recorded in several districts of the capital. Among them are an administrative building of an infrastructure facility and a building of an educational institution in the Solomianskyi district, as well as a non-residential building in the Pecherskyi district.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that in the Solomianskyi district, there was a hit on the administrative building of an infrastructure facility. No fire occurred at this location.

Also in this district, a hit on one of the buildings of an educational institution was recorded, after which a fire started there. At another location, missile fragments fell in the yard of a residential building, but no fire broke out.

In the Pecherskyi district, as a result of the attack, a three-story non-residential building caught fire. Emergency services were sent to the damage sites.

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ballistic missiles and jet drones flew toward the capital during the attack. The military warned several times about ballistic targets heading toward Kyiv and the movement of jet UAVs toward the capital.

Later, the air force provided further details on the scale of the nighttime attack. Starting in the evening of September 28, Russia launched one "Zircon"/"Onyx" anti-ship missile, two "Iskander-M"/S-400 ballistic missiles, and 152 drones of various types-including 82 Shahed jet drones-against Ukraine.

As of 8:00 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 109 targets: all three missiles and 106 drones. Hits were recorded at 24 locations, and debris from the downed targets fell at 16 additional sites.

The attack also briefly affected transport. Due to the air alert, Kyiv City Express temporarily suspended train movement, after which it was resumed with delays. In addition, the Kyiv City State Administration reported damage to the contact network on Stepan Bandera Avenue, which caused delays on several trolleybus routes. Due to the closure of Zhylianska Street, the routes of some ground transportation were temporarily changed.
