Zelensky removed ex-prosecutor general Kravchenko from NSDC

President Volodymyr Zelensky removed former Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko from the composition of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. The relevant decree No. 970/2026 is dated September 28 and entered into force on the day of publication. 

The document exclusively concerns the composition of the NSDC. Kravchenko was deprived of the position of Prosecutor General earlier: on September 15, the Verkhovna Rada gave consent to the President for his dismissal. 317 People's Deputies voted for the corresponding resolution. After that, on the same day, Zelensky signed a separate decree No. 932/2026 dismissing Kravchenko from the post of Prosecutor General. 

The decision appeared amid the story of his departure abroad. As previously wrote Kurs Ukrainy, Kravchenko left Ukraine on September 14, still holding the post of Prosecutor General, and later media reported data on the registration of his place of residence in Vienna.

In addition, the Office of the Prosecutor General launched an internal investigation into Kravchenko's official foreign trip, after which he did not return to Ukraine. The check should establish whether the procedure for arranging and executing the trip was followed, as well as identify possible violations.
