The end of the quarter significantly cooled demand for the dollar

On the last day of September and the third quarter, there is almost no demand for non-cash currency on the interbank foreign exchange market. Importers who needed to pay contracts did so the day before. Therefore, as of 12:00, the volume of transactions fell by about 2 times compared to yesterday.

Quotes for non-cash dollar dropped to 44.68 UAH on the bid side even without active participation of the National Bank. Meanwhile, exporters continue to sell currency because they need hryvnia for settlements with personnel and budget payments.

The euro on the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine on Wednesday is trading in the range of 50.71-50.84 UAH on the bid side - 10-20 kopecks cheaper than yesterday's prices. On the international FOREX market, the euro fell to 1.1312 dollars yesterday, and today it is trying to slightly correct its decline.

Cash dollar prices have decreased again. If yesterday in Kyiv wholesale exchange offices sold the dollar at 44.90-44.94 UAH, today they sell it at 44.82-44.84 UAH. In Mykolaiv and Odesa the dollar is sold at 44.87 UAH today, in Poltava and Dnipro at 44.90 UAH, in Kharkiv at 44.94 UAH.

As of 12:00, Ukrainian banks sell the dollar at prices from 44.83 UAH in Bank Lviv branches in western Ukraine to 45.34 UAH in Zaporizhzhia's Metbank. As for the euro, it is currently cheapest to buy at 50.97 UAH in Raiffeisen Bank.

Oil prices on Wednesday show relative stability after sharp moves early in the week. In particular, the popular Brent grade is trading today in the range of $95.11-97.28 per barrel.

On cryptocurrency exchanges, strong price fluctuations of major cryptocurrencies continue, with no clear trend. Thus, Bitcoin (BTC) on the popular Binance exchange fell to $82,900 per coin last night, and Ethereum (ETH) to $2,656.92 per coin this morning. Currently, Bitcoin is sold at $83,270-83,320 per coin, and Ethereum at $2,670-2,680 per coin.
