Russia attacked Trypilska TPP, equipment damaged

Trypilska thermal power plant suffered damage as a result of a Russian attack on September 30. The station's generating equipment was damaged. This was reported by PJSC "Centrenergo" on Facebook.

The company noted that specialists currently need to assess the condition of the equipment and determine the scope of necessary restoration work.

"Currently, our priority is to assess the condition of the equipment and determine the scope of necessary work. As soon as the security situation allows, our specialists will begin repair work", - stated Serhiy Isachenko, CEO of "Centrenergo".

The company does not disclose other details about the scale of damage, the condition of individual power units, and the consequences for the station's operation for security reasons.

The attack on Trypilska TPP occurred amid a new escalation of Russian strikes on the Ukrainian energy system. Previously, Kurs wrote that Russia has shifted to massive attacks on energy infrastructure. Strikes and damage to energy facilities were recorded in a number of regions, and after the shelling new power outages occurred.

"Centrenergo" emphasized that repair crews will begin work at Trypilska TPP as soon as the security situation allows.

Trypilska TPP also suffered Russian strikes during the previous heating season. In particular, on November 8, 2025, Russia carried out the largest attack at that time on thermal generation of "Centrenergo". After the strikes, Trypilska TPP in Kyiv region and Zmiivska TPP in Kharkiv region completely stopped electricity production, and the company's generation fell to zero. "Centrenergo" reported at the time that missiles and drones hit stations that energy workers were restoring after previous attacks.
